Healthy Chinese Food | Restaurants on a Diet

Most Chinese restaurants use a lot of sodium in their food, even when you order a healthy dish like stir-fry veggies with noodles, it is usually loaded with sodium and oil. In Chinese restaurants they usually offer some type of tofu dishes, so stick to those along with some steamed vegetables, as well as vegetable dumplings, and lettuce wraps with soy protein. The meat-less entrees tend to have less sodium in Chinese food, however you can also order meat dishes. For the healthier options, remember the words: Chu (broiled), Jum (poached), Kow (roasted), and Shu (barbecued), as they offer they healthier meat options. Stay away from anything that has the word "fried" on it. Remember to always use Chopsticks, you will eat slower, and consume less oil. Do you want good luck in the future? then stay away from fortune cookies, the only fortune you will get will be 100 extra calories with zero percent nutritional value. Always consume plenty of water throughout your meal.
